These make me rule out the problem is in the TV physical output or optical cable themselves, and I guess in theory the 2.If you are using the Brightcove Native Player SDK for Android, it is very likely you are currently using the Google ExoPlayer framework for your video playback. Unfortunately I don't have anything else with an optical output to test the Hel2 with, but both the speakers and usb-c hub I have with optical input work with the output from the TV & cable.

Have tried everything…) Thus seems safe to rule out a mechanical issue with the Hel2 optical port.
I was able to make work Hel's optical input with an optical output from another device that's not the LGTV.

I often use the optical output through a toslink cable from the TV into my active speakers (w/o Hel2) without issues, and also use my Hel2 with USB output from my computer without issues, but I have never been able to make LG CX OLED -> Optical/toslink -> Hel2 -> Headphones to work. Hey, I have been using my Hel2 mostly via USB with my computer, but whenever I use the TV as a… TV (instead of computer monitor) I'd like to get the sound output from the LG CX OLED TV to go through the Hel2-so I can use my headphones already connected to Hel2 and benefit from the better DAC/amp. "DTV Audio Setting" and "HDMI Input Audio Format" didn't seem to matter in my results, but the most "conservative" approach to make it work would be setting these to MPEG and PCM.įYI Schiit support also recommended this link if you have trouble: The one that worked consistently was iVANKY's: Regarding the LV TV settings, the LG TV was set as Optical and "Digital Sound Out" as PCM. There's a bit of play in the Schiit Hel2 optical connector and some cables have slight differences in the distance from optical tip and the plug. Edit/Update #2 with solution: seems it was solved by trying a few different toslink/optical cables from Amazon (and returning the rest).
